compassionate friends

It is the 50th anniversary of The Compassionate Friends.  The Lift High the Cross Project is touring the UK and has been lifted high by John Bleazard.  It is named after the famous hymn Lift High the Cross and I commissioned local artist Jim Fleming to make the cross in memory of my son baby James Christian who died in 1991 at Alder Hey.  It has met amazing people on its journey including Simon Weston (Falkland's soldier) and it is going to Dublin, Ireland next.  It recently went to Bardsey.  There will be an exhibition in West Kirby Library early next year in aid of The Compassionate Friends.  My compassionate friend and former President Patricia Mountbatten died 2 years ago but we have her son Timothy Knatchbull in the sibling section of TCF.  He lost his twin brother on the fishing boat in Ireland in the explosion that killed Lord Mountbatten.  Our new President is Lady Penelope Mountbatten (The Right Honourable The Countess Mountbatten of Burma).

I have organized a Victorian-themed afternoon tea in aid of TCF on 7 September.

All are welcome and I should be grateful if you could advertise this (poster attached).  Also, my friend Shirley Salisbury and I give talks to groups such as the Mothers Union about our work.  We belong to Cursillo.

Many many thanks
