Weddings, Christenings and Funerals

We are here to share with you in the celebrations and the more difficult times in life. If you live in the parish then you are entitled to be married, to have your child christened or to have your funeral in one of the churches.

We seek to make the service personal to you and to meet your needs as well as offering ongoing support.

Weddings

If you would like to book your wedding at either of our churches please complete the form below.

We will need to confirm your identities and your eligibility to be married in our parish – this is a legal requirement – and the form includes questions regarding your eligibility.

If you are unsure about your eligibility please do get in touch.

Christenings

The birth of a baby is a time of great joy and something to celebrate! Your child is precious to you and precious to God. Being baptised at a Christening marks the start of a lifelong journey of faith as part of the local and worldwide Christian family. We are here to help you to celebrate the joyful times of life. We will help you through each stage of the planning process and make sure your service is personal to you.

We also welcome adults who want to be baptised – please get in touch with the Rector to discuss adult baptism.

To be Christened at our church you must meet certain eligibility criteria. You can check to see if you live in the parish using this website – enter your postcode, and it will tell you which parish you are within.

Funerals

If you are struggling following bereavement and would like some support,  please contact our Rector Alex on 0151 625 1052

We know that when a loved one dies there is much to be done in making arrangements for a proper ending of life, grieving for the loss, and in making practical arrangements for the future practicalities of living.

We are here to help and can offer support at the time that you need it most. Our clergy are happy to take a funeral for anyone who was living in the parish, the person does not have to have been regarded as religious or have attended church.

If you would like a personal service which includes prayer for yourselves and the person who has died, then it sounds like a service led by one of our team is right for you. The service can be at a crematorium or in church and we can also offer a service for the burial of ashes of your loved one.

Discussing your funeral wishes with family, friends or clergy can be very helpful. Here is a leaflet you can download and complete.

Funeral Directors will also provide support to you and those around you as you make appropriate funeral arrangements. They will often liaise with us and help to make arrangements for you.

We are happy to work with the funeral directors of your choice but often work with two local funeral directors:

Quinns

Charles Stephens
